If the shape of your roof bores you, then you should probably take a look at this Turkish house. Designed by Global Architectural Development, this house has a very original roof design. The roof takes shape of a gigantic pool that collects rain water and helps the house stay cool during scorching summers. But although the roof is certainly the house’s main attraction, it is not the only interesting thing that you can see in this house.
From the outside, this house looks like the perfect combination of angular and curving shapes. The wings of the house are simple blocks of stone, while a curving glass wall stands at the center. The roof itself is shaped like a distorted ellipse. Plenty of brown-colored stones are used in the building, both in the exterior and the interior, as flooring and as wall coverings. Wood planks are also used, especially in the rooftop terrace beside the swimming pool and the upstairs balcony. A lot of green plants are also used as decorations in and around the house; there is even a mini garden in one of the rooms in this house. All of those make the house look natural and fresh.
The rooms inside the house are spacious and airy. In the corner of one of the sitting rooms, there is a cream-colored sofa with striped cushions on it, a long wooden coffee table in front of the sofa, a white chair, a bookshelf, and two gold floor lamps which adds elegance to the room. The rest of the room, however, is left pretty bare except for a couple of bright colored pillows on the floor, but this bareness makes the room feel even more comfortable.Another sitting room has a transparent fireplace and a curving glass wall all around. The curving glass wall looks especially impressive, and it gives the room plenty of natural illumination as well. This room is also rather sparsely furnished, with only a bright brown sofa and sculpture by the window, a pair of modern-looking black chairs with round coffee table, and two more colorful pillows on the floor.
I don’t think you can swim on the roof because the roof is designed to hold rain water, but the open air swimming pool can satisfy your swimming need just fine, and it looks almost as interesting as the water roof. The swimming pool is rectangular, and it is at leasthalf as long as the house itself. At night, the surface of the water is beautifully illuminated by recessed lightings embedded on one side of the pool.It looks just as luxurious, elegant, and unique as the rest of this amazing house.
